Eric has owned and run Clear Lake since 2012 — Berklee-trained, raised professionally at Henson Recording Studios, with two decades behind the console and his own mixing credits. He engineers every Off the Record day personally. You're not renting a room; you're being hosted by the person whose name is on it.
Five chairs — drums, bass, guitar, keys, and a lead vocal — filled from the first-call bench of Los Angeles session players: musicians who have recorded and toured with Grammy- and platinum-certified artists. The exact lineup is confirmed for your date, and meeting them is half the day.

Off the Record is hosted at Clear Lake Recording, a working North Hollywood studio in continuous operation since 1987. Sessions here have included No Doubt, Wiz Khalifa, Adam Levine, Chaka Khan, Ringo Starr, and work for Interscope, Universal, and Warner Bros. Your group records through the same Trident Series 80B console, in the same George Augspurger-designed room, with the gold records by the door to prove it.
Every day is built around one song, chosen with you in advance: a curated cover the band arranges for your group, an original someone in your group brings, or — in the Label Experience — a custom song written for your company or occasion. A short creative call before the day settles it, so the room is ready the moment you walk in.
By the end of the day they hear their song on the big studio monitors and walk out with a recording, photos, and a story they'll tell for years.
