For planners & producers

One marquee module, produced end to end.

Off the Record for planners & producers. One contact, one price, and your client looks like a hero.

Off the Record is hosted at Clear Lake Recording, a working North Hollywood studio in continuous operation since 1987. Sessions here have included No Doubt, Wiz Khalifa, Adam Levine, Chaka Khan, Ringo Starr, and work for Interscope, Universal, and Warner Bros. Your group records through the same Trident Series 80B console, in the same George Augspurger-designed room, with the gold records by the door to prove it.

Run of day

9:30 AM → 5:30 PM.

TimeStageWhat happens
9:30 AM Arrival & welcome Coffee, a tour of the live room and the vintage console, and a sit-down with the band to talk about the song you're about to make together.
10:15 AM Pre-production with the band The players map out the arrangement. You weigh in on feel, key, and groove — the creative DNA of the track gets set in the room.
11:00 AM Live tracking the rhythm section The rhythm section cuts the foundation live. Stand in the control room as drums, bass and guitars hit tape — or step up to the mic yourself.
1:00 PM Catered lunch with the players Break bread with first-call session musicians who've recorded and toured with major artists. The stories alone are worth the trip.
2:00 PM Overdubs & vocals Layer the details that make a record — guitars, keys, percussion, and the lead vocal. Clap, sing, or cut a real take if you've got the nerve.
3:15 PM Production choices Sit at the console and shape the sound. Eric walks the group through the calls a producer makes — and the group makes a few of their own.
4:00 PM The mix, demonstrated live Watch a professional mix come together live — faders, space, and dynamics — as a rough idea turns into a finished, polished master.
5:00 PM Final playback & a toast Hear your song loud on the big studio monitors, gather for photos, and raise a toast. You leave with a real recording and a story you'll tell for years.
